Omoplata from Side Control |
1
You will notice that Marco has me in side control and my left arm is on the outside of his right leg. It is not imperative that Marco's left arm be in between my legs, but to facilitate the next move, it should be closer to his side of my body.

2, 3, & 4
Marco will now switch his base. You will notice that he does not alleviate pressure from my face with his right shoulder. In fact, he will maintain a firm grip on my gi collar throughout the process with his right hand. His position is secured by controlling my belt or pants in the event that I try to escape.
5
To prepare for the rest of the movement, Marco will grab my left sleeve with his left hand.
6
Marco will now move his left foot close to my head (under my left arm) as shown in figure 6.
7
Next, he will release the grip from my collar and move his right arm to my left side.
8
He will then roll over his right shoulder.
9
As Marco rolls through, he will move his right hand to my belt, right gi collar or pants on my right side.
10
To complete the lock, Marco sits up with his right arm over my back and his left hand controlling my collar.
