When and where did you start training? I started in Ipanema Rio de Janeiro when I was about 7 years old at the famous Jacare Jiu Jitsu school in 1985. Why did you start training and with who? I loved to watch fights and the old Bruce Lee movies that passed on tv. with my father and brothers, then I started to train with Jacare we were neighbors and he always ask my Dad to take me and my brothers to the school, so one day we began and then never stopped until now. Which are your most important titles? I had many: world champion, pan am champion, Brazilian champion, state champion so many is hard to remember all, most recently I won the 2003 ABU DABI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, and 2003 PRO JAPAN GROUND IMPACT me and my brother Ricardo are undefeated there and the Brazilian Championship(teams)2003 twice. Who do you think is outstanding in sport jiu jitsu right now? My brother Ricardo and some of my teammates Terere, Teles, Damien, Jacare, Comprido, Jamelao, and so many others, we are a very solid team (MASTER TEAM) and will win many tournaments for sure. Do you have plans to fight NHB. and when? Not right now, my goals at the moment are finishing my education, get my degree in Physical therapy, teach at my schools in SP Brazil and continue to compete in sport jiu jitsu and submission wrestling events only, but if in the future I receive a good proposal why not? I never closed the doors for vale tudo, it is just a matter of numbers, if you know what I mean, ha!ha!ha! It's true that Victor Belfort is training with you? Yes we have a project at the Sao Paulo police academy to train people and we became good friends, we try to feed on each other energy, we train together and I think he is improving a lot, he is very focus and dedicated. We heard you will get married is that true? Well me and my girl friend are together for a long time, she is a beautiful person and we have plans to get married and have many kids someday. How is your school doing in Brazil? Very well, with many students, and the most important thing is we are like a family we care for each other and always have a good time together, exactly when Jacare was here coaching, everybody trained together, I try to do the same thing keep everybody close and friends. Do you have plans to teach in the USA? Of course I love the US. and have many friends and fans there, I'm a professional and if in the future I get a good proposal will go there for sure, Jacare is already there and who knows we get together again under the same roof, it would be awesome. Tell me about the positions that you show on these DVDs at the Atlanta seminar with Jacare. These are very good techniques that I use to win many important tournaments like Abu Dabi and the Mundial for example, we show in details everything, but in a relaxed atmosphere, is like I'm teaching a class at my school not like the regular tapes and DVDs in the market, I hope you like.
