This program is a guide for teaching and does not automatically
guarantee rank. If you wish to receive rank, you will have to do so in
person. The requirements for rank are outlined in the program and online
training section at JIU-JITSU.NET. The Program there is broken into
classes that you can use in your own school, but testing is done after you
know the required techniques and feel ready to be evealuated.
We do not offer belts online, nor will participation in this program
guarantee you rank.
All legitimate rank must be obtained in person and given by a certified
Black Belt instructor.
The Belt Requirements shown for Blue Belt are those that are commonly seen
in most Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Schools. The higher level requirements are
designed to prepare you for that level at any Brazilian Jiu-jitsu school.
What is included here are the minimum requirements for all belt levels at
the NYMAG Academy; should you wish to test for rank in Brazilian
Jiu-jitsu, you can use this eTraining program to study and practice with
your own partner and when you feel ready, make arrangements to visit the
school and test.

"I'm a special agent with the US Secret Service, and a
few of us in the Field Office get together to
train grappling and combative tactics a few early
mornings each week. We work very unpredictable
schedules, often traveling all over the globe on
short notice, so joining a commercial dojo is really
unrealistic. We use your BJJ Basics and Master Text
as a reference for much of our training, and we're
anxious to incorporate the new Association material.
Keep up the good work -- the things I've learned
through your books have worked for me more than once
in the field."
Best regards, and much continued success,
